When you’re insulting someone, what you want to do is you want to make them feel bad about themselves. So you want to paint them with character traits or identities that are bad. And, ultimately, gay will never work as an insult, because it is not bad.

I filled my head with thoughts of the future, of infinite possibly. There’s someone out there who will one day find me and fall in love with me and prove that all this waiting actually meant something.
